What is this area called Community Voices?

What exactly is Community Voice and how can I get involved?

When I was putting together my concept for the website/blog, I wanted to have a place where people can learn about what life is like with Ataxia.  This area is an opportunity to hear from you, your family, friends, loved ones, caregivers, etc., who live with this condition either directly or indirectly.  I want this to be a community voice where we can all learn from the different perspectives that are out there.  Each area in this blog has a definite purpose and I feel this is an important part in bringing awareness toward the goal of eventually finding a treatment/cure for our condition.

As someone who is living with Ataxia,

My perspective is going to be different from others in the community, especially given all our known and unknown variations of Ataxia.  Additionally, my family’s viewpoint is most likely different than mine, as your family’s viewpoint is different than yours.  Thinking about caregivers and medical professionals, given all the exposure they handle every day, I know they have viewpoints that are both informative and educational.

My hope for this category is to raise awareness

But also give hope to anyone who is struggling and thinks they are alone.  Everyone has their own unique story full of their personal victories, struggles, and everything in between.  I encourage you to share those stories with this audience!  You might think it is too hard or your story is not important. Remember, everyone has something to add. I encourage everyone who wants to share their story to reach out.  You can either email me at info@michaelmantz.com or go to the contact page and leave me a note. I am happy to help you any way I can, once you decide you want to help.

This blog was designed to educate, empower, and inspire others on reaching their full potential. Hopefully, we achieve this through the blending of Ataxia awareness and vetted education from vetted sources. Do you happen to have a wealth of knowledge in this space? Then I welcome you to become one of our resources.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

Are you someone living with Ataxia?  What about a family member, a loved one, or a caregiver?  Well then, Community Voices is the place where you can connect with others.  This is the place for you to exchange thoughts, offer hope, or learn from others.  We all want to learn a more effective way to live with this.  Your story is important!  I want you to share your individual and unique experience with the Ataxia community.  This is YOUR opportunity to make that happen.
